This week’s celebrity Packer fan is commonly referred to as a redneck, but he doesn’t mind; in fact, he embraces the title and has become America’s #1 hick. We like the distinction, but we’re ready to give Larry the Cable Guy a far more prestigious title: Big Cheese.
Born in Nebraska, Larry is a huge Cornhuskers fan. Having no NFL team to call his own, Larry decided to go with his wife’s home team, the Green Bay Packers. In a web chat with fans at espn.com, Larry said, “I'm rooting for the Packers because my wife is from Wisconsin and back in 2003 Brett Favre wore a Larry the Cable Guy Git R Done T-shirt.” Two great reasons in our book.
Larry has showed his Packer pride on FOX News and also in Pat McCurdy’s Packer anthem, “We Love the Green and Gold.”
We’re happy to honor a fan like Larry as this week’s Big Cheese. With the Cable Guy behind them, there’s no way Green Bay won’t “Git R Done” in 2012. Keep on rootin’ for the Pack, Larry!
