Betina Driver, the wife of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, helped kick off the 22nd annual "Give a Kid a Book" campaign on Tuesday at the Brown county Library.
"Reading is so important," said Betina Driver, the honorary campaign chair. "It's important for your life. It's important for your education and to be able to get a job. So reading is very important, and I encourage parents to read to their kids and read with them."
The program encourages families and businesses in the area to donate new books as holiday gifts for local, low-income families. The Give a Kid a Book campaign has collected more than 200,000 books during the past two decades.
Books can be donated through December 10 with Give a Kid a Book drop-off boxes at all Brown County Library branches, Associated Bank locations, and some local businesses.
You can also make a monetary donation for Friends of the Brown County Library to buy books for the program. Make checks payable to "Friends of BCL, GAKAB" and mail to:
