Training Camp Traveler: Taste on Broadway

August 2nd marks the 15th annual Taste on Broadway in Green Bay. The food feast is a fun night of great fare and entertainment. Forty restaurants from downtown Green Bay line the Broadway District showcasing their best foods and beverages from 5-11pm. The restaurants offer a big slice of variety that highlights Green Bay’s culinary coming of age.

Streets close as roughly 20,000 people flock to the main stage where the best chefs and restaurants compete for awards such as “Best Taste”, “Best Plate” and “Best Booth”.  This year, expect cuisines ranging from Urban Frog’s organic Sundried Tomato and Pesto Salad to southern specialties like Jambalaya at A Taste of the South. 2012 Best of the Bay New Restaurant winner Syrah Restaurant and Wine Bar will also entertain your taste buds with samples of their acclaimed menu. Those attending will be entertained with live music throughout the evening while they enjoy the tastes of Green Bay.

In addition to food you will find tons of locally made beverages. Micro-breweries serve their specialty crafted drafts, local wineries pour their best glass and some chefs even offer up their own specialty drinks. You can try Hinterland Brewing Co.’s award winning Maple Bock and Pale Ale or a south of the border chiller from Mi Pueblo.

As a premier event and fundraiser, Taste on Broadway celebrates another year and promises to be the one of the best summer nights in Green Bay.
